As summertime rolls along, it seems to get hotter and hotter in Norco! This week’s pick offers another way to beat the heat and stay cool: Cedar Creek Park.
Cedar Creek Park
Located just barely outside Norco in neighboring Eastvale, Cedar Creek Park offers many standard park amenities, like walking and jogging trails, open spaces, picnic shelters, barbecue grills, and picnic tables and benches. You can also reserve a shelter and request electric power be turned on, which is a nice touch. But what we’re really here for in the heat of summer is the splash pad, along with the playground area.
Cedar Creek’s children’s amenities are designed with younger children in mind, those who might be frightened by the tall trees and water cannons at Dairyland Park. Here instead you’ll find gentler jets of water shooting out from the ground.
The splash pad should be enjoyable for kids through at least lower elementary age. The playground area too is geared toward younger kids and should provide decent entertainment through the lower elementary years. One great perk of the playground at Cedar Creek Park is that it’s mostly shaded under a canopy, keeping your young ones out of the heat of the sun.
There’s plenty of open grassy space at Cedar Creek Park, perfect for playing with your dog. However, there is no fenced-in dog area, so you’ll need to keep your pup leashed.
Location
You’ll find Cedar Creek Park tucked away in a neighborhood at 6709 Cedar Creek Road in Eastvale. It’s open dawn till dusk, and the water feature is open April through September.
