Norco is a great town for equestrian enthusiasts — that much is obvious. But what about the rest of us? How can those of us who didn’t grow up riding enjoy a horse-riding experience? By going on a trail ride with a friendly local business that’s our next Pick of the Week: Western Trails Horseback Riding.
What Is a Trail Ride?
Trail rides are a great way for newcomers to experience horseback riding. Riders don’t really have to give much in the way of commands to the horses they’re riding. The horses simply follow the guide along the trail. Trail rides typically remain at low speeds and don’t require riders to guide their horses, making them the perfect introduction to horseback riding.
Western Trails Horseback Riding
Western Trails Horseback Riding offers guided trail rides through the beautiful Santa Ana River valley. The gently sloping trails offer some wonderful panoramic views. Riders will pass by a neighborhood full of horse owners, too. The overall experience is enjoyable and unique.
Rides are one hour and 15 minutes in length. Cost starts at $35 per rider on weekdays. One great feature at Western Trails is their big draft horses. Heavier customers (or those who just prefer draft horses) can reserve one for an additional $10.
You can schedule your trail ride online. When it’s your day to ride, you can find Western Trails at 4103 Pedley Avenue, right here in Norco.
When You’ve Worked Up an Appetite
All that trail riding is sure to work up an appetite, and you’re in luck! The Field House is just a short 10 minute drive away. Come enjoy a stellar meal from our ever-changing menu or cool off from your horseback riding efforts with a great cold drink.
